Doi Chicken / Doi Murgi / Curd Chicken
This a very simple and healthy Bengali delicacy. If you want to have chicken but not that spicy then this recipe is perfect for you. Even it is good for aged people who is having digestion problem. Curd helps in digestion and makes it very tasty one.
This recipe goes well with roti, paratha or fried rice. This is not for white rice.
Ingredients:
- Chicken 750 gm
- Curd/ Doi 150 gm
- Tomato ketchup 3 table spoon
- Garlic chopped 3 spoon
- Garlic paste 1 spoon
- Ginger paste 1spoon
- Onion paste 1 spoon
- chilies Paste 3 spoon
- lemon juice 2 spoon
- Black peppers
- bay leaf
- Salt and Sugar
Process:
Wash chicken pieces properly, then add salt, lemon juice, black pepper, garlic paste, ginger paste and whipped curd in it. Marinate for at least 1 hour. Once marination is done. Then start the cooking process.
Take a kadhai and put some oil or butter in it. Once oil gets hot, then add 1 bay leaf and few black pepper seeds in it. Then add chopped garlic in it and fry for 30 secs. Then add onion paste in it and fry well. Once the onion turned little golden brown then add chilies paste in it and mix it for 1 minute.Then add tomato ketchup and mix it. Once mixing is done then add the marinated chicken and stir it at least for 3 mins. At the end add 1 spoon sugar and salt to taste.
Then add some water and cover the lid for 10 mins.
After 10 mins check if the chicken is properly cooked or not. If you feel it will take some more minutes then cook it for few more minutes and your Doi Chicken is ready to serve :)
